SITES OF TRANSITIONAL ACTIVITY SYSTEMS (4 - 8 AND 6 - 8  YEARS)
The groups are organised at two boundaries of the Finnish educational system: between day care and pre-school and between pre-school and school. There are three separate curricula for this age period. Transitional activity groups have one integrated curriculum aiming at the development of learning potential and developmental transitions. A site usually has a staff of three: a class teacher, a kindergarten teacher and a nurse. Half of the group are school children and half 4 - 6 years. The sites are at Hyvinkää. At Kajaani  there are groups for pre-school and first/second class school children.
