This research centre was founded in 1999. The purpose of the centre is to carry out research on developmental impact of teaching and learning at different phases of human life-span.
Our special focus is on early years and school age, but other related problems are studied as well e.g. development of educational teams, agency postures of teachers, and learning in village schools.

Our research sites
- "Silmu"-club for creative play for young children (1) 3 - 6 years, 1 day a week
- day care centre "Ratamo", department for small children 1 - 3 years
- experimental groups (5) of vertical integration (joint instruction in two cities Hyvinkää and Kajaani 4-8 years)
- laboratory at Kajaani campus
